MICHAEL SIEGEL

Michael Siegel is the Vocal Music Director at Calabasas High School. Michael grew up in the Las Virgenes Unified School District. He attended Yerba Buena Elementary, Lindero Canyon Middle School, and Agoura High School before continuing his education and receiving both his bachelor's and masters in Music at CSUN.

While at CSUN, Mr. Siegel helped start one of the school’s a cappella groups and took part in festivals and competitions. During and after college, Mr. Siegel managed music artists, produced concerts, and worked as a vocal coach with multiple singers and groups.

Mr. Siegel is the Vocal Music Director at CHS and teaches both the choral and a cappella classes. He is also the Choral Music Director for AC Stelle Middle School.

Alana Weiss

Alana Weiss is a Voice and Performance Coach (alanavoice.com) and has been directing the Calabasas High School A Cappella Program since its inception in 2001.

An alumni of CHS, Alana received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she majored in Dramatic Art with an emphasis in Directing. She was a founding member of UCSB's award winning pop/rock a cappella group, Naked Voices, and sang professionally for many years. Alana is a frequent judge at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (the competition made famous by the “Pitch Perfect” franchise), a masterclass clinician at the LA A Cappella Festival, and is a fixture in the world of contemporary a cappella.

Alana has also worked extensively with the CHS theater department and has vocal directed several of their MainStage musicals.

Hannah Lewis

Hannah Lewis is a vocalist, songwriter, arranger, composer, and educator born and raised in Los Angeles, California (hannahroselewis.com). She received her Bachelor of Music in Media Composition at California State University Northridge in 2019 and is a CHS music and Bare Rhythm/Unstrumental alum.

Hannah has been singing contemporary a cappella for 10 years and music directing/arranging for 7. She sings alto in a 7-piece vocal band called From the Roots, who headlined the Sing! Texas A Cappella Festival in November 2018. She also directs the treble a cappella group Muses at John Burroughs High School and teaches in the Vocal Arts Program at California School of the Arts. Apart from teaching, Hannah enjoys singing in sessions for film and TV, songwriting, and playing piano and mandolin.

Joshua Barroll

Joshua Barroll founded the Calabasas High School A Cappella Program in 2001 and was the director of the CHS Music Program from 1997 until 2022. Under his and Alana’s direction, the CHS A Cappella Program was widely recognized as one of the best high school a cappella programs in the country. He can currently be found molding the young musicians at Bay Laurel Elementary School in Calabasas.
