Hello!

Thank you to all of you who came out for CHS A Cappella Auditions. We are so excited for the 2024/2025 school year and are happy to invite the following students to Callbacks on Wednesday, September 4th, from 6pm-9pm in the Choir Room. For the callbacks please prepare up to a minute of a solo that is different from your audition to showcase your voice. You will also be expected to learn the music in THIS FOLDER following the instructions below.

If you are on the list below please fill out THIS FORM by Monday 9/2 at 11:59 PM. Make sure to open THIS FOLDER, print out your music, and learn the part track that best fits your voice. If you have questions, ASK.

Please learn from measure 45 (page 6) through measure 70 (page 10). For reference, on the full demo listening track, the cut is from 1:49 (“a willow deeply scarred”) to 2:53 (“then you close your…”). You may choose the track you would like to learn from the following voice parts:  SOPRANO 2 (S2), ALTO 2 (A2), BARITONE (B1 - this can be sung in the range of an Unst tenor/baritone or a Bare Rhythm bass), or BASS (B2).

The best way to learn your track is to listen using headphones. Select the track labeled with the voice part you want to learn. If listening with headphones, you will hear your voice part in one ear and the rest of the tracks in the other. Even if you don’t read music, print out the sheet music to follow along as you listen. When you get comfortable enough, try singing along to the full demo track without the guide vocal.
